A 500 sq.f. model railroad display with almost a third of a mile of track!  Twelve working train lines rumble through a multitude of miniature scenery including Center City Philly, a Christmas Village, the Town of Lincoln Logs, and snow-covered countryside.  Also visit Constructing Play, an exhibition of classic building toys at the Center for Architecture at 1218 Arch Street (open December 5th-January 31st).

Join 4th generation butcher Charles Giunta as he takes you through the steps of breaking down an entire lamb. In today’s world of packaged meats this is a truly unique demonstration. Master Butcher Chuck Giunta will take out his knives and take you through the process of seeing a whole lamb broken down into primal and subprimal cuts. He’ll demonstrate the steps and discuss the sections and cuts and then you’ll have the opportunity to sample some of the delicious portions as they are roasted and seared.

Reading Terminal Market Tour

Every Wednesday & Saturday Learn the story behind cheese steaks, hoagies, pretzels and other Philly food favorites, and the 114-year history of the vibrant Reading Terminal Market where they're sold during this 75-minute, food-writer-led walking tour.

The tour leaves from the Market information desk at 12th and Filbert streets in the heart of downtown Philadelphia at 10 a.m. every Wednesday and Saturday. Reservations Required. Cost is $15.95 for adults and $8.95 for children ages 7 to 11.  Private tours also available. Call 215-545-8007 for Reservations

Park for $4 When You Shop Here

You can park for up to 2 hours for just $4.00 in the 12th & Filbert street garage.

Here's How:

* Park ANYWHERE in the 12th & Filbert garage and receive the parking discount.
* There are four entrances to the garage: off of 12th Street at Cuthbert (a small alley street); in the middle of the 1300 blocks of Filbert and Arch Streets, and on 13th Street just north of Filbert Street.
* Bring your parking ticket to the Market with you.
* Any Market merchant will validate your ticket with your purchase of $10 or more.
* Upon returning to the garage lobby, you will place the parking ticket into the pay station and your parking rate will be reduced to a flat rate of $4 for up to two hours.
* After two hours, regular garage rates will apply, less $2.00 discount. Discount expires after 3 hours.
